Monday Wellness Journal – Week 6
After four weeks of blogging, this Monday I had my first writer’s block. I was standing in front of my computer not knowing what to share with you this Monday about wellness in this journal entry. Then my cat came to me. And it started to purr. And I never feel more relaxed and happier than when holding it in my hands feeling its fluffy fur and low vibrations purr. Pets are the perfect ingredient for enhanced wellness.
So, this is what I am going to talk to you today. About how our pets make our lives so much better. Especially in a chill Monday morning when going back to bed, in the warmth of the blanket, is so tempting.
It has been more than 18 months since I got Puki in my life. It is a male orange cat with a strong personality. Adopting it was a difficult decision to make because I always wanted a pet, but I was never able to convince my parents, and afterwards my boyfriend, to get one. Now they are all in love with him.
Puki is the one balancing my life when I get it wrong. It wakes me up first thing in the morning by playing softly with my hair (I never had an alarm more fail proof than him).
When I am angry or emanating lots of negative energy, with low vibrations, he jumps on me and bites my nose until he makes me laugh. And laughter is a miracle ingredient for energy and mood boost.
When he wants to play, he starts rolling small balls to me util I give him attention. And after the “football game” we play together he relaxes with a short nap on my lap.
Lastly, when I am inside the house, he always stays in the same room with me (if I move, he also moves). And when I go outside even just for a few minutes he always waits for me at the door.
My cat knows me at a level nobody else knows. He feels my mood and energy. He loves me unconditionally. And he trusts me with everything. Together we make a perfect team. Puki brings me love and happiness and I bring him love and care.
And he makes everyone else around feel the happiness too. Whenever we have visitors, he jumps around and plays, putting a smile on everyone’s faces.
I know not all cats are the same and Puki’s personality is rather unique. Most cats just hide under the bed when new people are in the house. Some of them never let you touch them. Most of them are solitary and enjoy staying some place high where they can see the world around them while being alone.
However, my cat and I function better as a team than on our owns. Maybe I turned us into a team by adopting Puki when he was just six weeks old and giving him lots of love as a baby. Or maybe it is just part of my personality that reflects in his behavior. Or maybe I was just blessed with the friendliest cat I ever met.
Whatever the answer may be, Puki is for sure one of the best parts of my life and it is a miracle ingredient for enhanced wellness. It brings joy, happiness, smiles, and love even when it is almost impossible to feel anything positive.
Do you have a pet, or do you think about adopting one? In case you do have one, how does your pet boost your energy, improve your mood, and enhance your wellness? Or if you don’t have a pet, what is stopping you from getting one? Let me know in the comments below.
Lastly, I am leaving here a photo-dump gallery with my cat.
Love,
Cosmina
