Lookfantastic Beauty Box Review: March 2023 Products

That time of the month when I review beauty boxes has arrived. I received just a few days ago my Lookfantastic Beauty Box for March 2023. I received seven makeup and skincare products that made my day better and today I will present them to you.

Lookfantastic Beauty Box Review 

Firstly, in case you do not know what a beauty box is, how it works, and what options are out there, I provide a comprehensive answer to those questions in this article.

Also, here you can see the review of last month’s Lookfantastic Beauty Box, Cohorted beauty box and Japanese and Korean NMNL Beauty Box. 

Regarding this month’s Lookfantastic box, the theme is “Beauty Has No Limits”. Which I really like how it sounds. Also, I enjoy how they market the theme and I want to share with you a quote from the March Edit magazine.

Last month the focus of the box was on going greener, with the renewable and recyclable new type of box in which they deliver the products. This month they have a focus on waterless beauty. This is not only better for the planet, as two thirds of the world is affected by water scarcity, but also for the skin. Why? Water products contain preservatives, which cause irritations and dryness. Also, the level of active ingredients is higher, as they are not diluted. I just like knowing that I can contribute to reducing carbon footprint through the products I receive and is one of the reasons why I love Lookfantastic Box. 

Products in Lookfantastic March Beauty Box Review 

In the magazine there are nine products mentioned, from which every box contained only seven. Among these, five of which are in every box. 

Physicians Formula Rose All Day Highlighter 

Deluxe size of 9.2g

This product can be found inside the box in three shade variations, and it is the “spoiler” from last month’s box. I received the Petal Glow version and I really love it. Among the ingredients, you can find Goji and Kakadu plum and calming rose water blend, which can instantly illuminate the skin. The ultra-fine, reflective pearls deliver a gorgeous glow which provides a skin-perfecting finish. I can apply it on my eyelids, on my checks or on my neck for a skin-perfecting glow. I also like the fact that it comes with a small fluffy brush to apply the product. As spring is approaching, it is the perfect product to shine and to let the spring sun catch me.

The package instructions say it can also be used as a blush, but I think the nuance I received cannot work for this usage. 

Emma Hardie Plump & Glow Hydrating Mist

I actually already had this product previously, from a Christmas advent calendar. I love face mists and they are an essential part of my skincare routine. It has many benefits, but the one I enjoy the most is the extra skin hydration and energy boost. Among the ingredients, this mist has hyaluronic acid and aloe vera. This provides protection against pollution and environmental skin damage and evens out the complexion. The instruction say it can also be used after cleansing and before serums and moisturizers to enhance their effect. 

What I like about this product is how light it feels on the skin and how hydrating it is. It helps me manage the dull and dry winter skin successfully, while giving me a long-lasting brightness and glow. 

Wet n Wild Color Icon 10-Pan Shadow Palette

This was also available in two color variations. I received the “nude awakening” one, which I cannot complain about. In the magazine they photographed the other one, which is quite similar to another eyeshadow palette I already have. I like the color mix and diversity in the palette I found in my box. The pigment is soft, blends smoothly, and has a strong color intensity. I also find the color choices very versatile, as I can use them for both my day and night makeup. They are also warm nuances, which makes the palette perfect for the wormer days. 

As a bonus, for those who are beginners in eye makeup, there are also instructions on how to use the palette for one day and one night eye makeup. I find this especially useful and interesting.

NEOM Perfect Night’s Sleep Overnight Facial Cream

This is a night treatment that hydrates and plumps skin. It is made with 100% natural essential oils and 70% organic certified ingredients. Among those, many are potent ingredients in restoring tired skin overnight. And the ceramides and hyaluronic acid can make the hydration last longer. I haven’t tried it yet as I just opened another overnight facial cream, but I will try to come back with feedback after testing it. So far I can confirm that it does not use any fragrances that may irritate sensible skins and it blends really nice. 

First Aid Beauty KP Smoothing Body Lotion

Firstly, I want to mention that not everyone will have this product in their box. It is one of the four products from which everyone received a selection of only two, randomly.

I had two other products from this brand, and I enjoyed both. I was not in love with them, but they did their job decently. It was a body scrub and another type of body lotion.

This product has 10% AHA and claims to hydrate and exfoliate for a smoother skin. It can be used on any part of the body in need of urgent rescue, except the face. It is not intended for facial use as it can cause irritations on the more sensitive skin. 

Invisibobble Original Hair Tie

This is also not in every box. I admit this was the product I was least excited to find in my box from the four possible options, but after testing them I really enjoy using them. There is no need for tangling and allows me to easily create any up-do that I desire. Also, they are traceless on the hair. However, what I do not like is that they are made of plastic. I know it is fully recyclable, but it is also easier to break and harsher on the hair when removed compared with a textile hair tie. I will most likely keep one and give the rest to someone.

Black Opium Eau de Parfum by Yves Saint Laurent

This product is not mentioned in their monthly magazine, but I really love the fact that I received it. I am thinking for a few months already of purchasing this perfume as I tried it several times in the shop. It is a sweet, yet mysterious scent with the main accords being vanilla, coffee, and warms spices. 

The top notes are pear, pink, pepper, and orange blossom. The middle notes are coffee, jasmine, bitter almond, and licorice. The base notes are vanilla, patchouli, cashmere wood, and cedar. 

I do think that this product is perfect mostly for autumn and winter, not for summer and spring. But I do hope this sample will help me make up my mind regarding the acquisition of this perfume, as nights-out are a perfect opportunity to showcase its scent.

Other products that you could find in your Lookfantastic Beauty Box review

I will review shortly the other two products that could also be found in this month’s beauty box as I previously used them. 

Moroccan Oil Treatment Original

I love Moroccan Oil products. And the hair salon I go to always applies this treatment on my hair after each hair dye. It is an argan oil-based formula that enhances hydration and shininess. It can also be applied on dry hair to tame fizziness. This hair treatment is the perfect winter care for hair hydration. If you were lucky enough to find it in your box you can use it for getting rid of the dry strands and to enter spring with an extra boost of hair shine. 

Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion 

Deluxe size of 29ml

Worth £1.22

I also had this product in a sample size a few years ago. It is a really light, non-greasy formula if I remember well. What I am sure from my experience, though, is that this product is very good for hydrating dry parts of your body, but when applied to the face it can cause extreme dryness. It contains a mixture of vitamins E and B5 that are very helpful to the skin. 

Next month product inside Lookfantastic Beauty Box 

As always at the end of the magazine Lookfantastic provides a spoiler regarding next month’s products. However, I am not sure if this month’s product is related to the Easter Beauty Egg or to the April Beauty Box. I already know this product is inside the Easter Beauty Egg and I really hope it will also be in the monthly curation as I really love it. 

I am talking about the Sold de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream in a full size of 75ml recipient. It is one of the most amazing-smelling body creams on the market and I would love to receive it. 

Conclusion – Lookfantastic March 2023 Beauty Box

As always, the Lookfantastic box does not disappoint. I love the perfume, the eye shadow palette and the facial mist, and I am excited to try the overnight treatment. I also like that I found a new highlighter and a body lotion inside the box. However, I would have definitely preferred to find in my box the Moroccan oil hair treatment instead of the hair rings. 

I am really excited right now about next month’s curation. And I am also waiting to see what other ways to protect the environment and lower the carbon footprint the Lookfantastic team can find.
